The basics
What is virtual staging?
Virtual staging digitally adds realistic furniture and decor to a photo of an empty room. Upload a photo, pick a room type and an interior style, and Stagelys returns two furnished, listing-ready variants — no furniture rental, no truck, no re-shoot.
How long does staging take?
About 30 seconds per photo. Every generation returns 2 high-resolution variants, so you can pick the stronger one right away.
Which room types and styles are supported?
Room types: living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining, and office. Styles: Modern, Scandinavian, Mid-century, Luxury, Minimal, and Coastal — six styles tuned for US listings.
What photo files can I upload?
JPG, PNG, or WEBP, up to 10 MB. For the best result, use a well-lit shot at 1024px or wider — photos under 1024px may look soft after staging.
Credits & pricing
How do credits work?
One credit stages one photo and returns two high-resolution variants. You buy credits in one-time packs — there is no subscription.
Is there a free trial?
Your first photo is free. New accounts start with 1 credit, and free-tier outputs carry a small corner watermark. Paid outputs are clean by default.
How much does it cost?
Three one-time packs: Starter is 12 credits for $19, Pro is 30 credits for $29, and Agency is 75 credits for $59 — $0.79 per photo at the Agency pack. See the pricing page for what each pack includes.
Can I buy a custom amount of credits?
We sell fixed credit packs — Starter, Pro, and Agency — so you can pick the size that matches your volume. Credits never expire, so anything you don't use stays in your account.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits never expire — they stay in your account until you use them.
Results & re-staging
What happens if I don't like the result?
Every generation returns 2 variants, so you usually have a strong option right away. If neither fits, you can re-stage each photo once for free in a different style.
What if a generation fails?
If a generation fails, the credit is automatically refunded to your account — you're never charged for a result you didn't receive. For anything else, reach out to support and we'll help.
Can I use the images commercially?
Yes. Every pack includes full-resolution exports with a commercial license — use them in MLS listings, portals, brochures, and social media.
Compliance & your photos
Do I need to disclose that photos are virtually staged?
In most markets, yes — and California's rule (AB 723, effective January 1, 2026) has two parts: the staged photo needs a visible disclosure on the image itself, and the unaltered original has to stay available alongside it. A line in the remarks field only covers the first part. Every stage comes with a share link that puts the original and the staged photo side by side, shows the staging date, and carries the disclosure on the staged image; it opens without an account and doesn't expire, so it stays good for as long as the listing is up. This is general information, not legal advice — always check your local MLS and state rules.
Do the images have a watermark?
Free-tier outputs include a small “Stagelys · virtually staged” corner watermark. Paid outputs are clean by default, with an optional “virtually staged” watermark you can apply at download for MLS compliance.
What happens to my photos?
Your uploads and staged outputs are stored privately and are accessible only to you, through time-limited links. You can delete your work at any time from the app. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
